We're trying out a new design for mobile and tablet users. The majority of our visitors are no longer accessing the directory from a desktop computer so pushed out a new layout that will be easier to read and navigate. We're still in the first phase of the update, more enhancements are coming soon.

We have several clients that have come to us looking to run Facebook advertising in Alberta. First, it is important to note that the Facebook audience is not ideal for many businesses for a variety of reasons. The 2 main reasons are: 1. Most people do not like to be bothered by businesses while they are on Facebook. 2. They are at the very top end of the sales funnel, meaning unless you have something they really want it probably will not prompt them to 'buy'. If your goal is brand awareness and likes to your company page then it might be fine for this purpose. With all of that said, the average cost to run Facebook ads in Alberta is about $0.18 per click. This will garner you anywhere between 8,000 to 30,000 impressions depending on how interesting your ad content is.

We recommend that you do not spend more than $50 on your first couple of ads so you have a chance to measure the return on investment and get familiar with the process.

Looking for an exciting career where opportunities abound for advancement and growth? Do you want to practice to your full scope and have the opportunity to be part of a dynamic team environment that encourages professional development, active involvement in your job, and where your contributions are supported and valued? Would you like to live and work in a rural setting with traditional values and community involvement that is lost in the big city? Then why not consider the Northern Lights Health Region as your next career choice and place to put down your roots in the great northern frontier!

Geographically, the Northern Lights Health Region is the largest health region in the province of Alberta. Covering the entire northern section of the province to the Northwest Territories border, and from Fort McMurray to the east and High Level to west, we are a diverse blend of historic, cultural, and economic backgrounds. We are also a unique ecological region made up of some of the largest and richest agricultural, forestry, oil and gas, and wildlife reserves in the province. Our communities continue to grow and prosper through these resources, including major exploration, construction, and development projects throughout the region.

Northern Lights Health Region provides a broad spectrum of community based and acute care health services to a growing population with increasingly diverse health needs. The largest health centre is located in Fort McMurray which is equipped with 24 hour emergency care, an intensive care unit, full surgical services, a radiology unit and a medical laboratory. It currently operates 88 acute care beds, 12 bassinets, 30 long term care and 1 respite bed. The western side of the region is serviced by two hospitals in High Level and Fort Vermilion, health centres in Rainbow Lake, Paddle Prairie, and LaCrete, and a beautiful long term care centre in LaCrete as well. Opening in the Spring of 2004, the new 40 bed Northwest Health Centre will replace the current hospital in High Level. With state of the art equipment and facilities, this new health centre will be a crown jewel in the north!

Our uniqueness is especially characterized by the people that live in our region. As did the explorers that came to this region years ago, so still do people from all backgrounds and cultures come to take advantage of the career opportunities and quality of living hard to be found elsewhere. Our pleasant summer days and midnight sunsets combined with the beautiful glow of the Northern Lights make living in our region a truly unforgettable experience!
